Course Description:
This program discusses the meaning of cultural values and treatment issues, including the neglected dimension of the cultural background of the therapist. The course illustrates the application of the multidimensional cultural approach in the case of a rebellious Mexican-American teenager.
Course Objective:
Upon completing this program, participants should be able to:
- Explain how generational status, economics, education, religion, gender, ethnicity, race, minority status, and regional background impact diversity;
- Discuss how to recognize and work with cultural dimensions in therapy.
